Hey chaps, not been on here much in recent times, or down the club!  Living in Cornwall makes it a bitching a commute...

Finally got round to sorting out my new samurai army, had the bits lying about for a while.  Idea is it can be used as a couple of races with minor tweaks, since I'm so prone to changing my mind about armies.  I've begun by doing 20 archers (below). Initially I shall be base coating everything and washing + basing.  Then will hopefully be able to go back over and highlight as time allows.

Another batch of 10 archers dipped and based.  Just assembling the last 12 now!




Also my first 6 horses for the samurai cav who will be dragon princes dipped and based.

Right, done some hobby today!  No idea if anyone is even paying attention to this little Plog, but Nm ;)

Assembled a dragon rider to be a filler in my dragon princes for the time being, but haven't stuck it to the chariot base yet with half an eye on the potential for drake riders in the near future!




Have based up my mages:




And based and converted my BSB (who is also a Mage in this list...radiant gem):




Have also based up a rearing horse to use as a princes mount in the future, for now the champion of the dragon princes can ride it!!




Better paint up my last 10 archers this weekend so can crack on with the characters over Christmas!

You think so? :s I do only have two types of thing in my high elf list...archers and dragon princes.

So basically anything on foot is an archer, anything on a horse is a dragon prince ;)

Then there are 4 blokes sitting down who are mages...

Depends on whether the power gamer in you decided to expand from that very limited model selection I guess.  Personally I'd probably be fine with it, but have played a few alt figs armies where it's not been the most obvious, but generally as long as the weapons are correct you'll be fine.

Tom, why are you persisting with the light council garbage? It takes the least skill out of anything in the entirety of warhammer (cannons exempted!) and you are not actually a bad player that needs to do it...

Sorry, that build just really annoys me!

Been slowed down in this project by totalling my car this week, but new car bought and back on track! Will be finishing those archers I posted up tomorrow hopefully.

Did these two conversions tonight, first a prince or other mounted character. Will be using as a champion in my dragon prince unit for the time being:




Secondly, standard bearer for the dragon prince unit...banner I converted from scratch with a paper clip, spear and lots of bits, took me ages!




By lunchtime tomorrow, the remaining bits of the army will be all undercoated so the home stretch is in sight. Might finally be able to post a pic of the whole army up in the 'whole army' thread :)

Right, been a while since I updated this due to Christmas Shenanigans and selling my iPad, but finally borrowed a camera!

I'm just working on my dragon mage model and BSB for the weekend so will hopefully post them up next week. This term is highlighting! Still need to Matt varnish the above, they're pretty shiny (firefly reference?)

I don't really like whole proxied armies but you've made some good progress in the time dude...

Isn't the dragon really too small though??? You might get a huge bunch of modelling for advantage accusations thrown at you (mainly from me!).

! Yeah it is, I'm aiming to use the forgeworld basilisk as a stardragon in the future, but I'm looking forwards to drake riders. I'll have to use it this weekend at giants lair but will take it into account with TLOS where it matters.  I have a dragon Mage in the list, I'm not there to be a douche ;) (unusually?)

Point taken re proxied armies, but I'm pretty skint atm and these minis are so cheap.  Wargames factory do 24 infantry or 12 cavalry for £15 which is mega cheap!
