Prince OlafoTep - A TK PLOG

Right my TK are going to have a busy year, with 4 tournies booked so far.
I am going to have them ready by the beginning of September.
For the comped events I am going with something different and it involves taking a High Liche Priest, an Icon Bearer and Heavy Horsemen.
Just to see if I can win any games at all using this strange set up.
I can't have a king so OlafoTep has been demoted to Prince.

To make this army different, they will all be lava based and painted a lot darker to represent their closeness to the Chaos Wastes (they have been travelling alot).

I am going to try out the new Vallejo paints on this army along with using the GW spray gun, in order to speed the process up..

I will post my list here asap so we can keep up with what has been painted etc...

Cool, i would use it, but I've already got my lava base style. Let me know how it goes. If you'd like, I can always put a lava painting tutorial up

That would be great mate, PLOGS, tutorials etc is something we really want to concentrate on....

Right, finally got everything sorted in the new house, so painting and building must commence..

First of is a small conversion on my Tomb King, chopping off his sword and replacing with a Flail of skulls, need to just add the skulls to the flail..

And I am building these boys to be my chariot hounds from hell...

Sounds like a cool theme and some nice conversion work already on the tomb king.

Looking forward to seeing how you work the lava in.

Made an effort this wknd to crack on, running out of time, plan is to get it all built and basic painted for the MK tournie (1st wknd of sep) and then get the paint job looking really good by the GT.

The bases is what will stand out early doors (hopefully), so I will concentrate on getting them looking good now..

My King is now fully armed, I went a bit OTT with the flail, but hey...

Chariots built, mould lines removed etc..

I got everything undercoated and chariots bases are under way

Had some old painted squigs, stripped them, these guys will pull the TK and TP chariots..

And why buy 3 scorps, when you can simply cut one into bits and make 3..
Or 2 for this list...
It will look like they are going under / coming out of lava....

Well as it turned out my lovely old cat Tiger fell ill on the wknd and was put down on Monday morning. As a result I got very little done as I was trying to spend as much time with him as possible.

This leaves me with 8 days off before the MK massacre. This is going to have to be very quick work (and probably quite poor as well) indeed...

Well I seemed to have actually pulled my finger out and got some painting done.
After I have posted this, the plan is too get the Chariots finished today, to a semi-decent standard as they ate the main focus unit. The rest will get a basic finish, especially the characters and then get worked on before the GW GT...

So I got some building and spraypainting done outside
