Title: GW Sale and going forward
Post by: fatolaf on November 22, 2011, 02:48:46 pm
Having basically sold GW at a loss for the last 2 years, we can no longer sustain that approach, in this increasingly mad discount environment.
With no prospect of a bricks and mortar store in the short term future, we have no chance of getting a better discount from GW, as the demands by GW for net stores are very very hard, if not impossible to achieve, in order to get a better discount band.

So we are changing course with the good ship OG.

We are going to focus on the key parts of the business that actually make us money, and that is growing, boardgames, LCG's, RPG's etc..

We will still sell GW but not carry any of it in stock, essentially catering to club members, we will offer club members 15% off for cash, and 10% discount when bought through the store.
We will place orders once a fortnight so long as we have the £100 minimum order filled...

In the meantime we have a load of GW stock, some of which we have had for a long time, including loads of metal blister packs etc. This we want to clear, so starting from tonight we are having a GW sale on all figures, rulebooks and scenery, mostly WFB with a smattering of 40K (mostly BA stuff)...

25% OFF RRP

Please place orders through the shop if you want anything, as this stuff will shift fast. I cant reserve anything, so you will need to be quick.
We will of course take cash payments and I will deliver to the club as per usual..

Grab it now while you can...

Ol

Maybe, and if you have any Dark Eldar left I might be interested too :)

Ol,

Ended up placing 2 orders because the system wouldn't let me purchase multiples of anything (unless that was intentional?) and also forgot to add on all the non GW stuff I needed too!

Hope that's ok?

So tempted to place a third order...  Will need to check something when I get home first though, but if I've not got enough then I'll be buying some more stuff!

Just received my big box of toys, awesome.  Now looking at what's left on the site and considering another order, noticed there still seems to be a restriction preventing me from getting multiple of the same thing (Stormvermin)

Ol wants everyone to play MSU, better for his casket and archers to get rid of then.  :cool3:

But my skaven army requires me to paint 40 of every unit, smaller painting batches don't exist!

Looking forward to seeing your rat ogre and jezzail units then Dave!

Why is all Skavern armies look the same, block after block of clan rats and slaves, one plague monk block pushing a furnace, an abomination, warp lightning cannon, a bell, plus doom rocket.

People moan about Dark Elves but Skaven are so boring and samey in their build.

Nobody comps Rat Ogres, Doom-wheels, giant rats, night runners, plague catapults, etc. Yet I don't see anyone taking them.

Think I'm currently up to 20 jezzails bought.  Only got 5-6 rat ogres though...  I'll change my stance to being 40 of every ranked infantry unit, that gives me more wiggle room!

Andy, you've seen what I've painted so far, typical ETC fare, 120 slaves, 80 clan rats.  My latest purchase from Ol was a doomwheel and I want the 40 stormvermin, neither of which I note on your standard army.  Combine that with the host of jezzails and I think will have the options for fun lists too, might not work very well but will be a laugh to put down.

I think Dave you might be the exception, all Skaven armies nowadays look the same.

Mine will also look the same, sometimes, but like all my armies I much prefer having all the options available so I can take whatever I want when I fancy it.

Catapult is slowly gaining some favour based on what I've read on twitter, shame as means I might not take one now!

Doomwheel is still made of win, no idea why they're not that popular.  If they weren't so expensive I might have enjoyed running a list with 2 doomwheels and a load of the mini doomwheels but those finecast models cost far too much, so will have to come up with a conversion, admittedly not that hard, some little cart thing with a stack of blades on the front.

Yeah I find it incredible when I hear/read people saying how rubbish the Doomwheel is. Methinks these are 7th edition players who were used to using it in pairs as a zero-effort "I win" button as it was so good in 7th, and now that there's a little bit more randomness in its effectiveness it gets slated. Foo's...

Its a annoying bug we are trying to solve, in the meantime buddy, you simply have to do seperate orders, 2 boxes of vermin left

Ol,

Looks like due to moneybookers telling me the order didn't place that I've placed a double order and I suspect most of it shouldn't be in stock.  Dunno how you go about cancelling one them, but if you could do so wouild be appreciated.

I do want to put a second order in but only for the second box of stormvermin!
