Anyone here excited by the new Dwarf book? Anyone think it will actually make them more interesting to play?

I do quite like the Ironforge Guys, the rules seem decent, WS5, S4, T4, LD10 with S5 AP Quick to Fire Weapons that don't suffer the -1 when charged. Not sure on the Gyrobombers as of yet I think I need to see the model in person.

Can't say I'm that excited to be honest.

I have an army from when I came back into the hobby in 7th so I might see what the book looks like and if any good I'll consider getting a copy.

I have to say I'm a big fan of the new Squats, might even have to pick up a unit here or there (Chaos'd up, of course) on the extremely flimsy excuse of using them in T&T.

However I'm not sure if it will really change the army much in terms of competitive play. Yet we shall see come the weekend :-)

From what Bugmans Brewery are on, it appears that you can get a Vanguarding unit or 2 (Hammerers more than likely with their 2 S6 Attacks) along with Scouting Rangers, Miners and some Gyros bombing around the place, it's feasible that we might not just see the standard Castle in a corner with Artillery tearing you to pieces, though time and the army book will tell.

I am excited. I can put down my half constructed metal gyrocopter and stop stressing about how I will pin the metal rotor blades to it!

Has the organ gun finally been nerfed?

Engineers have lost a pip of BS, it suffers from cover, can take more runes but is the same points cost. So still pretty good. The big winners seems to be the Flame Cannon, Gyros and Hammmers. The anti-magic has been toned down a bit as you'd expect, still a +2 to dispel for the army but no auto-DD generation apart from the avil and if you want 3 scrolls you need 3 Runesmiths.

Seems like a decent update to me. I mean, there seems to be a lot of very loud complaining from the Dwarfen Internets but that's to be expected.
