Title: CoC - The Wailer Below
Post by: fatolaf on August 19, 2010, 12:51:59 pm
Part 4 in the The Yuggoth Contract cycle, and sheer lunacy will descend with this syndicate card... :))

QuoteFeeding time was the worst. From the shadows, one of the bent alien figures would occasionally emerge to slide a bowl of bubbling brown "stew" through a hatch in my cage. And then I would eat, and they would be back in my mind, monitoring my revulsion as I choked down the foul substance.
      - from "In The Cage" by Nate French

QuoteErin Moirai, a shy Miskatonic student, has been betrayed by a disarmingly charismatic stranger... and it's little consolation that he was in turn betrayed as well. Now, trapped in a horrific laboratory where not even her thoughts are safe from intrusion, she's forced to perform dark experiments. The worst, however, is yet to come.

Fantasy Flight Games is pleased to announce the fourth Asylum Pack in The Yuggoth Contract cycle for Call of Cthulhu: The Card Game!

The Wailer Below continues the story of Erin Moirai and Tyler Scindere, while introducing exciting new cards like Sam Archer: Private Investigator, the Degenerate Serpent Cultist, and the vile Feasting Ghouls.

And in part four of the serial short story by Nate French, Erin Moirai is forced to perform a series of alien dissections, as her jailors intrude upon her thoughts.

She has no way of knowing how long she's been in captivity. Will she find an opportunity to escape, or be trapped forever?

The Wailer Below is a fixed 60 card Asylum Pack that contains 20 different never-before-seen cards based on the dark mythos of master horror writer H.P. Lovecraft, designed to augment existing decks and add variety to the Call of Cthulhu metagame.

Nice new syndicate card, again combo tastic...

QuoteFirst, Smugglers replaces your hand with whatever was on top. Since you probably expertly timed this, chances are you are at least closer to finding what you want. So far, so The Laundromat (Whispers in the Dark, F17.) Second of all, your initial hand is put on the bottom of your deck, but in the order of your choosing. Much like with the Curator, the entropy of your deck is actually lowering, even though you would start to notice it very late in the game – Normally. Because this is where things get sneaky. Smugglers allows you to draw an extra card from the bottom of your deck. You know, the part you just spend carefully arranging.

There look like a bunch of good cards in this one. Damn you FFG! I'm trying to save up for the Dark Eldar, then you announce a whole new CoC faction, and then keep on releasing good cards for existing factions ...

Goddamnit I'm going to spend my whole life skint, arent' I?
