That is great, the lighting effect you have got on the gobbos is so effective!

Sorry to disillusion you Richie it's just sloppy dry brushing (though looking back at the pictures it would work... thinks...). All that will be painted over with the same goblin "dress code" from the rest of the army, bar one who will be all in black who might double up as a shaman.

Sterling work Rich, and fast too. It'll nice to see these in the flesh, as they look like a great unit.

They'll be a nice splash of colour for the army which is otherwise a little dull (too many night goblins, like one can have too many) and hopefully will be another unit to rival Ma 'n' Pa.

More paint splashed on these today, unfortunately this is the point at which these models look really awful. All my models seem go through this stage of painting and I have come to think of it as "the sh!t stage". I know the model can only get better from here but I dislike the sh!t stage so much so that I simply loose enthusiasm for projects. Some have just died at this point never to see the light of day again, others simply slow to nothing, currently my VC Skeletons are experiencing this (though they will be back).

Anyway enough of depressing myself I will continue with these and push them through the stage and hopefully post something that looks better later.
The flesh tone (GW bronzed flesh) is what I have used for all my goblins, a green ink goes over this and they go a pale green and all the highlighting and low lighting is done for me. When you're painting 200+ goblins you find the short cuts.  The skin looks good on mass as is but I often touch it up after with a mix of bronzed flesh and camo green.

Another Richard

:)) Right that's got them past that difficult point in their development (like small children ). The skin is inked, they have teeth and whatnot and they look more like goblins.  :nightgob001: :nightgob001: :nightgob001: :nightgob001: :nightgob001: :nightgob001: :nightgob001: :nightgob001: :nightgob001: :nightgob001: :nightgob001: :nightgob001: :nightgob001:

They just need their leaves painting and their weapons done. Basing should be easy following the tutorial in the tutorial section.

I may pick them up again tomorrow depending on Kathryn's course work.

Oh and the hairy chaps in the background are some beastmen for the Clapham Mordhime campaign which distracted me for half an hour.

looking really good, i'll have to get a game in vs your gobbos at some point!

At night he prances about like some sort of bearded West Country metalhead pixie, planting pink horrors in peoples' army cases and cackling while chanting his mantra, 'it's double sixes my love, take them off, just take them all off'

Happy too Lee but first I need to squish your witch hunters. :))

Did more work on these this afternoon and glued the 3 earth-bound ones to their bases, they'll need sparuing with varnish but those 3 at least are finished. I have experimenting on how to make the rest look like they are bounching... this could be tricky as this makes them very top heavy and the small base size just isn't big enough to stop them falling over. I probably just end up weighting them with lead and hoping for the best.

Blue Moon

Great work Richard. Love your stuff as always. Is the chap on the left, supposed to be death? Just wondered as his cloak is black as opposed to blue.

I wish I could get large numbers of well painted minis done!
