This competiton closes at midday on Wednesday 30th September

The theme for the first painting contest is BIG Monster! (Bigger the better!)

We're looking for ogre sized or larger models for this contest.

So long as we get at least 10 entrants, then there will be a prize..

After a delay, heres my entry. Not quite monstrous in size (although its as tall as an ogre), its monstrous in reputation:

I was going to give some comments at the time of voting, but decided not to, as I didn't want to sway the results, as I know how much you all look up to me!

I thought they were both excellent. I especially liked the skulls on Erik's as well as the detailing on the armour. On Lee's I thought that the idea and sculpting behind it was fantastic, as well as the use of the sentinel leg. I really liked the way that the bronze was painted as well as the flames coming through the skin. One very minor criticism, was that I thought that the skin was a little flat. Maybe that's just the photos, but maybe some stronger highlighting or some tattoos or something. It is very difficult to do large expanses of skin though.

Finally, and what pushed it over the edge, was the fantastic lava base. Really nice.

In conclusion, two excellent models and an amazing start for the first OG Games painting competition. A very high standard for us all to aim for. Just one question though, as this was an Ogre sized or bigger model, why on earth didn't Ritchie enter!

Well done Lee, it was tough against that sweet Skulltaker of Eriks, the only ones I was working on in the time period were finished just after the comp closed, I had nothing eligable...
