Kill Team Campaign - In the grim darkness of the future there is only...cake?

Short version - I will be running a Kill Team campaign, please sign up.  If you win the campaign, you get a cake.  It will run over 2 Saturday OGs (if the club's still going...) and comprise 2 one day tournaments (with a mix of 1v1 and multiplayer) and 4 campaign games, so 2 months total.  Kill Team's also quick enough that you can play cards/boardgames/etc on the same night whilst still getting some 40k shenanigans under your belt

Long Version - Right, campaigns are tricky but can be very fun.  In my mind, the big problem is the drop in interest as campaigns progress, mainly driven by the difficulty in actually getting matches in.  This is made much worse when some people (and I'm more guilty of this than most) have to cancel late in the day due to work/life commitments, games get delayed and you end up playing the same list in a not particularly different scenario whenever you do get to the club.

The answer to all of life's problems is, of course, Kill Team rules.  And a prize.

Ah Kill Team.  200pts, restrictive rules that, when combined with The Golden Rule* mean you have to think about your army in terms of individual soldiers and what they'll bring to the table.  It's great, really, really great.  And it's quick, so even if you're only able to make one slot, you should have comfortable time for KT and then some Magic or whatever as well.

The other great thing in life is cake.  As a prize, the winning player/side will get a cake, made by me.

My plan would be to have a Kill Team tourney at each Saturday OG - this would not necessarily be 1 vs 1, we had a cracking multi player, fluf compliant game yesterday of 2 v 2...where only one player could win so Matt and Seb ended up stabbing eachother heartily in the back in the last round.  There would also be 2 campaign turns between each Saturday, so 2 further games where your victories not only boost your leader as usual but may win your Kill Team fabulous prizes, in terms of extra bonuses.  It's therefore in your interest to play in the campaign turns which will be heavily narrative driven with custom fluff written by yours truly to explain why whichever forces we have are where they are and what's going on.

What you need to do:
Sign up on this thread
Commit to playing campaign turns AND on Saturday OGs**
Obey The Golden Rule*
Have an awesome Kill Team.  No grey plastic allowed.  Unless you're grey knights I guess.  Or iron warriors. Or, darn, just make them look pretty dammit.

What I will do:
Write lots of fluff to link missions with a narrative arc
Ensure compliance with The Golden Rule*
Do the admin of the campaign, so lists of armies, upgrades and fabulous prizes won
Arbitrarily decided who has the best looking Kill Team and give them an in-game bonus as a reward
Act as a stand in when I can to ensure people can get  lots of games in**
Make a cake for the winner.  No, really, I'm not bad at baking, you can get a 40K themed cake.  If you don't like cake, it can be a pie.

**Right, we all have lives of some description and it can be tricky making lots of games.  To alleviate this and provided there're enough numbers, I'll play Traitor/Imperial Guard Kill Teams and be available for games in the second week of each fortnight as a safety net to stop people not being able to get a game in.

I'm certainly interested (as long as no one minds playing with a work in progress team), just a couple of questions:

Would the basic army list be static for the campaign?
Are the games quick enough so I could conceivably get in both games in during one weekday session?
Would having a Chimera be considered a violation of The Golden Rule (I have no idea how some units play at this scale! :) )?

TkaiC

@underscore - Chimeras are fine, the KT rules allow vehicles so long as they've a combined armour value of less than 33 (Front+Side+Rear) so Rhinos are fine, Vindicators...no.

Army lists can be altered, although there will be a hold on this within campaign turns (the two week period), I think Kill Team is pretty new to all of us so it's better to be able to try out something a bit off the wall compared to 'normal' 40k (I'm looking at a Rough Rider/Ratling list at the moment) but then be able to change it if the cunning plan really wasn't (so, my Rough Rider/Ratlings...)

Here's the old rule pack as a starting point - http://www.games-workshop.com/MEDIA_CustomProductCatalog/m3460063a_Kill_Team_Rules_Pack_2013.4.pdf

New rules (which we'll use) have more missions and the way specialists work has changed - you choose a theme for your specialist, such as Dirty Fighter, and then pick from a list of skills linked to that rather than having a Fleshbane sniper.  Otherwise I think it's pretty much the same.

In! Obviously dependent on Saturday availability, but sure I can make something work.

Bring forth the Ultramarines!

Procrastination by Numbers - Update 146:

I'm painting classic Dwarfs!! PbN Update 146

TkaiC

Actually Matt, humble tactical marines are pretty decent in Kill Team - the best armour available and decent stats plus the Chapter Tactics Ultramarines boost makes them a sound choice - you don't even have to paint anything new!

I'm potentially interested. Where do I find the rules for Kill Team?
Sometimes when I reflect back on all the beer I drink I feel ashamed. Then I look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery and all of their hopes and dreams. If I didn't drink this beer, they might be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. Then I say to myself, "It is better that I drink this beer and let their dreams come true than be selfish and worry about my liver."
