Another ace day with some really fun games. I feel my noise levels were a little under par but then there were children about! Also slightly ashamed of the unpainted army, next time three colours I promise! Big thanks to Ol for running my main 40k hit! Keep it up buddy.

Also will send my thoughts re:comp through this week.

Ps. The third place prize seems to have made it into the second place envelope... Seems you can't smoke and cut paper after all! ;)

Just also wanted to say a big cheers to Ol for another great day, even if the missions were a bit crazy!! :)

I had a fantastic day, just wanted to say cheers to Craig, Ian and Ash for 3 great games.

Craig one day I will manage to kill your orks! :) Might have to bring my IG to do it though.....

Ian, damn that was a close game, almost had you mate.

Ash, you kicked my arse spectacularly but it was still a great game, lovely Space Wolves too.

If I'd known there was a wooden spoon prize though I might have tried harder to come bottom!

Looking forward to the next one already.

Monk

Really good fun!

I had so much fun I barely took any photos. I'll put them up when I have a little more time in the week. [edit] Oh bugger, wheres my camera? [edit] Phew, I'd packed it (half drunk) with my tanks!

Big thanks, as ever, to Ol. Loving those loopy missions. It really swung game two all over the shop!?

Also thank to John and Craig for great games, very generous gamers. Game three, well .. Pfft big noisy c@nt!

Roll on Planet OGIV!

I had a lot of fun, helped by 3 great opponents (Chris, Monk and Jon) and a very acceptable noise level :P

@Chris - Haha, yep that would probably do it! Always struggle against that book.

Mission 2 was particularly mental. There was no way I was going to be able to kill all those Assault marines without 2 bombs hitting them. Thanks Monk for being such a good sport about it, you got hit by them a lot more than I did. I particularly enjoyed our "cool model showdown" as well, but I would do as I came off favourably. ;P

My MVP of the day goes to a unit of nobs that won the last game for me; despite losing their battlewagon on turn 1 and having to trek across the entire stretch of the board on foot to claim the objective.

Nah they were both the same, slightly smaller than ususal, due to lower numbers...

Interesting when you look at VPs (which I've never paid much notice to before) to see Ian and I on the exact same TPs but a huge difference in VPs. You clearly paid more attention to the mission at hand and less on wanton destruction. Shame on you! :P

Great event! Thanks very much. I'll be at the next one for sure.
Maybe make the missions a little easier?

As a noob returning to the noble 6X4 after 20 years lost to the warp, I only have the one army and play from one, albeit quite tasty, codex (BA).
I can't blame those with a few armies to hand from writing a list that enables them to optimise for the games at hand.

Craig makes a point that, I think, bolsters my assertion of missions being kept secret! It does seem that the fruity missions and some minimal comp would suffice to keep lists balanced. If one knows the there will be fruit, but not whether this will be blue, boysen, schnoz, raspberry or even a nice juicy pear, then we should all just rock up with or favorite toys.

Send in your list then you are PMed the missions. Or X number of missions that are pulled from Ol's Bicorn on the day.

As all is fair and love and war... {so I'll be utilising tactic "6-(2-fluorophenyl)-2-methyl-9-nitro-2,5-diazabicyclo[5.4.0]undeca-5,8,10,12-tetraen-3-one" next time}  :))

Will be 2 quite simple missions, where the comp hopefully addresses the power creep in the books.
The 3rd mission however will still be bonkers and secret.... :))
