It took what felt like F-O-R-E-V-E-R!!  The trenchcoat alone has about 6 layers on it. Thing is, I couldn't paint a whole force this way otherwise I'd be the last guy being called to the shuttle when the world is about to finally blow up saying, "just one more layer..!" All in all, it probably took me a couple of days in hours, and the mixing was a bit of a hassle too.

@Stardragon - Ultramarines!!! Oh the shame  :wink;m:: Like you said, white is the proverbial bitch to do really well, as my next Priest will show, but if you can pull it off then I certainly take my hat off to such accomplishment. I'm toying with doing my Dark Eldat army in white, for something different, but I don't think I've got the testicules or the patience sadly.
"Sanguinius. It should have been him. He has the vision and strength to take us to victory, and wisdom to rule once victory is won. For all his aloof coolness, he alone has the Emperor's soul in his blood. Each of us carries part of our father - Sanguinius holds it all." Horus

Thing is, I like the idea of Imperial Guard, but then Cruddace got his mits on them and he f00ked it up - hate playing against sooo much cheap death  :wink;m:: I just think the Krieg look wicked and it's more of a hobby project than an army I have to play with. Saying which, I have about 2500pts worth sitting in a box waiting for some attention but I need to do some more on the Angels and then crack on with the Dark Eldar as my two preffered armies... and then there's trying to do something for Golden Daemon...

So much hobby, never enough time

After a quick flurry of brush and paint, here's a new addition to the force. It was about time that my Priests stopped hiding behind ablative wounds (but at least I never kept them in transports and measured their buffs from the hull :wink;m::), so this Power Weapon wielding brother is going to be piling into the assault with some Sanguinary Guard soon.

I still need to add the blood vials around the waiste area, courtesy of the new GK kits (), but he's done enough to be complete for now. I've got to crack on with some tourney additions for next month and I'm running out of time...

Anyhoo, enjoy. The camera doesn't pick up the definition as well as is obvious firsthand but it's only on the phone...

(The white was indeed a pain... again!)

Lovely stuff mate. As a fellow white painter, I understand your pain! Hence my Brett army being a big old steaming pile of Basecoat ftw! right now...

There is no problem in life that can't be solved with Heroic Killing Blow:
Plague Furnace, Abomination, Hydra, Wyvern, Arachnarok, Engine of the Gods, Zombie Dragon, Vargulf, Hellcannon. To be continued...

If we assume that there are infinite universes, then in at least one of them, I'm banging Emma Watson. Awesome!

Well, this is the extent of my white adventures up to now - group shot of the Priesthood so far. Sometimes it felt like even this was too much effort.

...and a further addition. Finished off another JP Flamer, which pretty much completes my 1st Asst Sq, barring maybe another Sgt variant at a later date.

(lame phone cam FTW!)

Group shot of the completed 1st squad.

Cheers mate. The white combo I use is pretty simple but it all boils down to a nice fluid set of paint and a bit of patience - but if you're going for the fun element for the Beasts journey then the pressure is off. Happy to share my pain limited expertise  :wink;m::

Procrastination by Numbers - Update 146:

I'm painting classic Dwarfs!! PbN Update 146

Ok, sadly real life is getting in the way a bit, but managed to finish my first SH Termie. Straight up paint job with no mods, and these guys really are a lot of fun to paint. Didn't realise quite how bulky these ones are compared to the standard set, and because of their dynamism, I'm sure they could probably give a Land Raider a cover save laugh

The red is a wash-out again because of the camera, but it's good enough to just make out some of the highlighting. 2 Thunderhammers almost done...
