The Waargh I tried to run this month has been cancelled due to lack of interest.
This will be the last Waargh I attempt to run at this club.
The attendance for a once great monthly institution has been dire over the last 6 months, and I put this down to a number of reasons.
Many people have stopped playing (myself including), the size of the event is not important or competitive enough for many players and rankings have been mentioned to me a few times, which does make me smile..
And in general the support of the club has been on the wane this year, which saddens me greatly after the years of hard work I have put in since we started.
Anyway, in the future, if anyone else wishes to use the club for a WFB event, please let me know and I will arrange dates and cost with you.
In the meantime thanks to those players who supported the event over the years and I will maybe see you round a Mtg table one day in the future... :cool3:

Sad to see that there will be no more Waaaghs Ol, a great event every time I've been but completely understand if numbers just aren't there. I kept telling myself to sign up for a Waaagh since I've moved down to Portsmouth but life seems to have got in the way a bit. I'll just have to get on and paint those Sisters of Battle I have and get down to a planet OG event!

It is a real shame but I agree it being completely understandably - there is no support there at the moment and it is not worth your time to mess about with it for 4 or so people.

Yeah, big shame but no real choice, really. Hopefully the moons will align once in a while for us to arrange a one-off.

Tis a shame aye. I've been coming to the Waaaghs I can, yet you have seemed intent recently on choosing dates where I have long term plans already in place :(

Yet it is totally understandable on your part. Hopefully you'll have a change of heart and we can get back to the old events with 2 full days
Sometimes when I reflect back on all the beer I drink I feel ashamed. Then I look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery and all of their hopes and dreams. If I didn't drink this beer, they might be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. Then I say to myself, "It is better that I drink this beer and let their dreams come true than be selfish and worry about my liver."

Hi guys

Bit odd this for a first post but I couldn't let this pass without saying something.  I'm not a club member but have played the Waarghs for three years now.  Bit surprised at the poor attendance as every one I seem to turn up to is pretty full.  But I guess that's only one month in every three or four.

Overall I owe you a huge debt of thanks Ol.  Living out in the sticks and with a disabled son, it's very difficult to get games and the Waarghs have been pretty much my only Warhammer since I've been coming to them.  Losing them is a huge blow for me (was really looking forward to playing one this month) and I know other guys like Rando will feel the loss too, though less so.  Good range of types and hardness of armies, good mix of player strength, nice guys pretty much all round.  That said, I completely understand why it's too difficult to carry on.

So thanks Ol, you've done a great job.
