How'd it go then?

Very well. Unfortunately fifteen players turned up so I had to take part myself, which did make the schedule slip a little. Only the odd rules query, and generally a very positive event. One really weird thing though, for the second round we did have three 11-9's. Probably to be expected though as the first round drew players of a similar quality together I guess.

Half the armies were Elves of some kind, including one Wood Elf army. There was a fair smattering of Vampire Counts, two Skaven and only one each of Warriors, Empire and Tomb Kings.



I'm now looking at when to do the follow up event, and currently either the 2nd of October (which is too soon in my book) or the 23rd of October are the only openings I might be able to work with. Pretty much every other weekend from now until December is accounted for in some way, and of course for it to be any use for Valhalla it needs to be far enough in advance to be worth going to.


I'm then looking at running either another Warhammer event at the end of November/start of December, or possibly a 40K tournie instead. We haven't done a 40K tournie at the club yet and its probably high time we did...

It's the only date I can do until November, and obviously November is too soon to Valhalla to be any use as a practice.

This Saturday I'm playing in a 40K tournie, the following weekend is Games Day, I think the 2nd is free, but is probably too soon anyway, the 8-9th I'm up in Mansfield playing Warmaster Ancients, the 15-16th I'm playing at the 40K ToS, the 23rd is free, the 30th is my daughter's 5th birthday party (which also means I can't make the CoLS final :( ), the 5-6th is No Holes Barred which I'm toying with going to, and obviously the weekend following that is Valhalla itself...


Any chance you could do the Waargh on the 29-30th instead? Or failing that run your Saturday under Valhalla comp so that I can attend and I'll do a 40K tournie on the 23rd?

Yep that was the plan to run it with Valhalla comp, so if you do 40K, we have the best of both worlds.

We'll do that then. I'll see if the 2nd is available though as there's been calls for a tribute comp for next IMPfest.
