Yeah I was surprised given you got all the other eggs, that this was the one that passed you by! Hence my amusement at your brilliant ideas for how I could have tricked you!!

I'm having more trouble with the Tusks in the mouth than the Spines on the back, but am going to put so much green stuff on his mouth will practically be shut.

Yeah I've heard the Screaming Skull Catapult and Tomb Scorpions are horrendous, they would enter the Models from Hell feature, had I built one. What puzzles me is why if all these parts are recommended to be pinned, can't a pin joint be moulded on them in the first place?

I keep thinking about getting a Hellcannon for my Chaos Warriors army, and then remember the stories I've heard... what do we reckon the chances of a plastic one of those are (or maybe a resin one?

After all my babbling about Alternative Voting, I forgot to mention the most fun bit about voting - that is seeing all the tiny undersized chairs and desks at the primary school!!! Can't wait!

I agree that the hellcannon is a cock of a model! One of the two halves of mine was curved slightly outwards, had to sculpt a lot in!

also, congrats, your blog has gone over 500 posts!

When I was at Disneyland last year, I tried to find some little plastic Pumba models to use as Pumbagors, because lets be honest they'd look better... but for some reason, Disneyland has absolutely no Lion King memorabilia whatsoever. Almost ruined my day...
There is no problem in life that can't be solved with Heroic Killing Blow:
Plague Furnace, Abomination, Hydra, Wyvern, Arachnarok, Engine of the Gods, Zombie Dragon, Vargulf, Hellcannon. To be continued...

If we assume that there are infinite universes, then in at least one of them, I'm banging Emma Watson. Awesome!

I have not heard good things from anyone, I like the idea of painting Chaos Dwarfs but the model scares me  :scared01:

Wow! Yes, thank you very much. That's amazing, and I was the 500th person to post - does that win me a small prize?

It would take a lot to ruin a day out at Disneyland, with mentions of Simba and Pumba in this week's blog it's a Lion King special. I feel an urge to sing "The Circle of Life" loudly in my office at work, anyone want to join in? Oh just been told it's not approrpiate at work  :sad;m:

Suggestions for the remaining 200 points (sue me and die  :rivertroll02:)

Finally someone's bought this thread back on topic!!! It only took 500 replies over 34 pages!!

Very good point though, with only 200 points left what do you guys reckon I should add for the final month?

I never made a plan for what to take in the army at the beginning, as I knew I'd get distracted with the new High Elf models that were on their way, but I did make a wish list of units I'd like to paint/add - which came to about 3,500 points! 0]] Hence why I have a lot of "naked" characters, but do I paint another unit or do I go for magic items, or is it mix of the two?

I personally had planned to paint up 5 Dragon Princes with full command, which comes in at exactly 200 points, but that would leave Wizbit and the Prince "streaking" across the battlefield. Also I have no idea what magic items to take, ever! I'm rubbish at that bit (as opposed to being s**t hot at everything else in Warhammer, obviously!!) Andrew, I'm sure your choices are good, but I can't remember what any of them will do, will check with my army book later!

For reminder's sake here's how the army currently stands. I've noticed these army lists don't display very well in some browsers, so you might need to click on each image to expand it - else it will look like a dodgy optician's chart:

The other point I'll make is that personally I only field units with full command (where applicable) so no use in suggesting a new unit without a command group as I won't do it! And secondly if it's all magic items, then I've already painted up the whole army and this blog will close down and self-destruct... probably.

So it's over to you for you thoughts...

You should thank Simba really, and although it was emptied I put everything back now, got to be tidy!

With out a doubt, you should paint the Dragon Princes buddy.

Then when you are at 2000 pts, you can play people at 2200 pts and add magic items around, or remove Caradyan and replace with magic items as well..

For starters your griffon lord should have the Star lance and the 1+ AS...
And Wizbit should have the ( silver wand?) that lets him pick his spells

I agree with Ol, this is an army building challenge not a 'I'm adding 200pts of magic items to my list' challenge

cunningmatt

Yeah I think I agree, would be rubbish to just add 200 points of magic items for the last month. So definitely a new unit/expansion to an existing unit.

Anyone got any suggestion other than the Dragon Princes? Though I may have to just paint them soon, the sprues look too good!!!!!

Oh and I looked up the magic items Star Lance looks good for the Griffon, who should always get the charge - though is an extra +1S and ignore Armour Save when he'd be striking at Strength 6 anyway worth 40 points. I suppose it helps guarantee that all important first round combat res.

The Seerstaff of Saphery is the one your thinking of Ol - I had no clue and had to look it up, choosing spells is always good, but I don't want to become the High Elf version of the Gatewayer!!

Andrew - like the idea of The Potion of Foolhardiness make him a charging machine, and a 4+ ward save (and armour save reroll) from the Vambraces of Defence is of course useful - though work with my Phoneix Guard shows I need to practice rolling 4+'s.

The Skeinsilver - +1 to roll to determine first turn. Seems like a lot of points to not really guarantee you the first turn, as currently I seem to finish deploying second (200 points a month makes for lots of little units). I try not to play it as a completely shooty High Elf army, as battle reports show I do actually advance on the enemy!!! But yes the extra round of shooting is useful, just 25 points seems like a lot for what this does?

As always your thoughts on this and anything else are welcome! Wow 5 whole posts in a row on topic, surely this has to end soon?!!
