Wow! It's gone crazy here today  sorry tried to reply at work, but they actually wanted me to work today, how rude?! Thanks for the comments and thoughts on what armies you'd paint and collect, all great, I've highlight a few tit bits from the responses which particularly grabbed my attention!

Firstly, whilst it's good you're keen on "What's In the Box?" lines haven't opened for March's round yet, so your votes don't count and you may still be charged. Hold back people, hold back.

Another good update matt, makes for much more interesting reading on my commute than today's doom rag, or newspaper as it's more commonly known.

I'll have you know I'm still frantically painting away on stuff for the Tale, I'm aiming to get my month 5 stuff up by the end of the weekend (better late than never)

I can add some random slurs against asylum seekers, global warming, the BBC and Jonathon Ross if you like make this fill the newspaper void! Hehe. I did use the phrase "I'm pretty much the only one doing the Tale of OG Gamers any more " specifically as a nod to your good self.

Nice army suggestions, funny I expected something a bit simpler from you, maybe "Just a plain Lizardmen army - as seen on the box."!

1. Lizardmen - I'm kind of half way there with them just now so it's a bit of a cop out answer but I really like the figures and once I started reading the background I was truely captivated.

6 Skaven - I painted up the IoB clanrats and had a really good time doing it, which again is tempting me to get a skaven army.  The fact that they're a dime a dozen right now is putting me off.

7 Dark Elves - but specifically because they can do a decent all mounted army.  I like the idea of a hugely mobile force and nobody else quite offers the same options to do mobile, and good, at the same time.

8 Bretonnians - Love the idea, hate painting horses.

9 Beastmen - Lack of any real variety in the army, everything is a fur and flesh beast, just variations of theme.  But I like the background of them that exists in my head (not read the recent books).

Nice comments on all the armies, picked a few above. Totally agree on the Lizardmen front, brilliant background, lovely models. You mention painting the Skaven, am very tempted to paint the odd unit of every army for some variation, but I am very worried it will snowball into wanting to paint all of them into full armies. I guess if you hate painting Horses and want to do an all mounted force Dark Elves is the way to go. The recent Beastmen book I think has a really good background, slightly annoyed they played down the Beastmen vs Wood Elves theme, but I think they got it on the head with the way they worship Chaos - unaware of the different gods, and jealous of the Warriors of Chaos who receive gifts of armour to buy their loyalty. Painting wise yeah they are all fur and skin, though I do find that actually makes them quite speedy to paint, though there is some difference in the Centigors, Harpies, Razagor, Tuskgor, Giants and the other monsters.

3. Beasts of Chaos: Because they look awesome. And easy to paint. And awesome. Apparently they're total pants though. On the plus side, I could blame the army when I get my butt kicked from here to Naggarond...

5. Dwarfs: Because I could pop on a fake beard and do a reasonable impression in a pinch. And the whole "gunline" idea seems like it might just be simple enough for me to pull off despite my tactical capacities.

11. Daemons of Chaos: I'm pretty sure I'd either get bored painting all one colour, or claw my eyes out trying to justify why I'm shredding 15 years of fluff indoctrination: "BUT... BUT... DAEMONIC ANIMOSITY! KHORNE DOESN'T WORK WITH SLAANESH! ARGH!"

15. High Elves: Who are these people and what are they doing here? Pointy-eared gits.

You're totally right about the Beastmen, in my humble opinion, and you've spotted my reason for playing with them!! Dwarfs-wise I think I emphathise with them in this case, if I was in battle I'd stand with a gun at one end of the battlefield and shoot as many times as possible before the enemy reached me - though I'd then run away so a little less Dwarfy! Know what you mean about Daemonic Animosity, maybe it should come back to help the anti-Daemon camp. And as for you comments about the High Elves, how rude?! This is a High Elf blog don't you forget (I forget often enough), such comments aren't welcome here!!

I am obviously disgusted that what's in the box is still so open to abuse, O&G eh, how convenient! I have asked wikileaks if they have any information on this subject, I also have the News of the World tapping your phone just in case.

Wooah, wooah, wooah!! Am I going to have bring in Cheryl to do the draw live in OG Games to avoid accusations of cheating? Failing that I could pop up amongst Dale Winton to grab some balls?!

As for armies, I still think Ogres are the most fun army in the game and I enjoy them I am really hoping they get an 8th ed soon. As I am still in the process of constructing the dwarves and space marines I can resist new armies, only just. I have tried most armies over the years but the ones I am still tempted by are the Bretts and Tomb Kings.

I feel bad for my comments on the Ogres, and I did enjoy playing yours, I just can't find enough background to sweep me up as I can with the others. I suspect if an 8th edition did come out then the inevitable glut of White Dwarf and online articles and a bigger army book could push them up my list.

Fair enough I did find it hard to read too! Just trying to be themeatic! I've changed it to Teal now which hopefully you can read this even if you can't read the blue!

Armies that I would ike to coolect for painting/gaming purposes..

1) Bretts - Want to do a TK / Brett cross over army

3) Dwarves - Using the new Mantic models, but would never ever want to play with them, with out a doubt the single most boring army in the world IMO (joint top with VC actually)

So currently I am getting on with doing my WoC / Beasts army, thinking of using some savage orcs as Gors to really mix it all up

Interesting combinations, I look forward to seeing them on the field of battle. The good thing I find about Dwarf tactics is the fact you never have to get out of your chair to play them, no standing up and stretching across the table to move your troops - perfect if you want a rest!!

And I tell you if Box 17 does not get picked next month, Cheryl fecking gets it....

No not really, but I keep reading the Evening Standard in the hope it will have some uplifting stories about the day in it!  - I love your highly converted, off the wall armies really, and am simply jealous I am not that imaginative. Though my Thunderbird themed Space Marines may catch on.

The conversions and themes just come from the fact that I don't want to have the same army as anyone else (the reason why my skaven are on a slow burn until they're not top tier any more!)
