For those of you excited by yesterday's teaser the answer to where the name Azakstan comes from is:
It was the fictional place the terrorist in Monday before last's Spooks was from. He was from the Azakstanian group who were trying to fend of Russian oppression
I've left it as a spoiler in case you were saving this blog to read at work rather than waste valuable weekend time!

And to keep you updated on my X Factor thoughts, I didn't get to see it much this week because I have a life... does that sound convincing... hmmmm not sure! Anyway I've noticed that whenever Cheryl Cole speaks Simon Cowell's hand is on the back of her chair - I suspect it might be because she's actually a puppet controlled by Cowell (more than just metaphorically I mean). Also the only times you see Simon Cowell's hands both together and moving independently is when she's out of shot - presumably because her lifeless puppet is slumped on the judge's desk next to him! A conspiracy theory or perhaps I've uncovered the truth?! I'll keep you updated on my findings!

Matt, I'm really glad to see how nice and shiny your army is shaping up to be (OK being high elves, I suppose it's what they are supposed to do!) It is good to see something that won't look like a mass of brown / black / grey that most peoples armies end up as (mine included)

p.s do you think the panellists on border control will also get wildcards ?
Charge.  Flee.  Your Turn.

I think that's why I really like the High Elves, they really do feel like a breath of fresh air when painting them compared to painting various flavours of Chaos as I have been doing. I mean the Sea Guard had Blue, Red, Yellow, Green and White on - I can't think of many armies you can do that with on a model without it looking a member of Diva Fever (must stop talking about X Factor - look like an obsessive). I am thinking of painting a Bretonnian army at some point for similar kinds of reasons, love the idea of every model having loads of primary colours, though admittedly they'd still have loads of brown / black / greys on. Speaking of your army I think the Moons and Mushrooms (along with green faces) do add a decent amount of colour in, I think I hark back to the 4th edition where bits of wood were as often blue or red as brown or grey!

Perhaps all the runners up would be allowed to hang on to the bottom of a lorry passing through Dover and the person who hung on longest up the M20 would win the wildcard - only connection with The X Factor being the screaching noise they make?!

QuoteAnd incidentally this format point led to the show's cancellation when in a scandal a dyslexic child accidentally miscast the spell "Rope Attack", leading to a member of the production team, poorly dressed as a goblin, having to inflict indecent acts upon the casting child

QuoteThen there's Wagner, not the German composer of "Ride of the Valkyries" and "Here Comes the Bride" fame, but someone who appears to have escaped a lunatic asylum

Resulted in small bits of toast and peanut butter covering my keyboard, very funny mate  :))

I must stop eating / drinking before reading your PLOG..

Now I have warned you about this Ol, you've got to stop eating before reading! Or is it that these posts are so long you need a meal break halfway through?

Last week I talked about Horses Arses, this week abuse of disabled children and still I haven't hit the point where a forum moderator goes "Do you know, I think that might be a bit much" - so we continue digging next week.

Cheers mate, there's a real danger I might get this month's painting done - despite all signs to the contrary!

Before anyone gets offended reading this part of the post without having read the above context, should point the incident was described as "unfortunate" and it was all written in the best possible taste! #-)

QuoteI would like to take this opportunity to publicly apologise for the poor taste of that last joke.
Don't it was awesome, I spend a good 5 minutes sniggering at work.

I feel your pain on the reality TV, having avoided the apprentice for the last 3-4 years I was subjected to an episode my girlfriend had recorded last night.  I found the show so painful I had to walk out half way through and do anything else instead.  Given I am currently residing in my uncles flat and he's over visiting the UK on one of his rare trips that meant sitting in a dark room rocking backward and forward.  It was still more fun that the apprentice.

Almost certainly not. Though who knows what's in Drawer 7, maybe you'll find out because it's nearly time for October's edition of What's In The Box?! I know exciting! Perhaps I should see if Shakeaway will fully sponsor this blog and then I can give away free shakes for the competitons?

At the risk of losing a reader, I'm quite a fan of The Apprentice, much more than The X Factor - I think it's the fact I find out more sociably acceptable to laugh at people who I feel are almost certainly going to be richer than I am in life, as opposed to laughing at people who probably should be in some kind of care. Saying that if I come up with any more good Wagner jokes they are going in!
