Just a heads up that the following 60 player Event run by an ex-Ogger (Sami) is on at the start of Nov this year details are in the Tournament section on TWF and tickets are on sale now.
2500pts in Croydon.
Looks like we already have 5 Oggers interested but given its nice and close it'd be good to get a group of us together for the event. we'll potentially look to run a Waaggh using this comp a couple of weeks prior to get some practice in!

Nice to find a tournament so close - have just paid up.

Looks like it might be quite a competitive environment... might take Slannless monster mash and see how fast I can crash and burn :thumbsup:

Idea is:
  • Hard to break, with 4/5 Blood and Glory points locked up in two Stubborn blocks.
  • Central blocks get bubble-buffed via Light, with double Wildform in reserve from the Skinks (who also stop them chasing off after things).
  • Dual Terradons are my ace in the hole to win the chaff war - and hopefully deal with the Doomfire Warlocks that I assume will be swarming over the place like rats.

It's rather character-heavy at the moment, and has no Salamanders or Stegs, which makes me sad. Very open to suggestions to improve it - I don't know how many games I'll get in between now and November, but I imagine that however many there are it won't be enough!

The only two things I can't/won't alter are:
  • Saurus in core - I don't physically have enough skink models (or movement trays) to fill out the core allowance of a 2500pt army. The only way for me to get around this is to field Skrox.
  • If I'm taking a Slann, I'm taking Temple Guard. They're my favourite little guys!

Drop cold one riders and Krox, and replace with sharpened horns steg, they are awful by themselves and totally rely on magic buffs to keep them alive and as soon as you rely on magic in this game , it lets you down...

Dammnit, only just found out about this, I don't know what it is with UK Tournaments but they sell out so fast you can never get a ticket. I'll see if I can get on the paid reserves!

I'm in for the Tournament too.
And yes, they sell out really fast, totally agree. I'm in 9th spot of reserves right now, but there are always a lot of drop outs, so it should be ok.

With any luck I'd just have done my viva, so I could feasibly make this. I'd be very interested, although like Steve I'd like to see the comp pack... the completely uncomped environment last time did detract from my enjoyment a bit.

Beastmen:
May use Crown of Command
May take units of upto 550 points.
May generate 3 extra dice  instead of 2
May take Marks of Chaos as per Warhammer: Glotkin rules.

Brets:
No scroll and Silver Mirror

Deamons:
BON (per 3 or part unit)/Skull Cannons/Plague Flies (per 3 or part) max 4 units total
Every Horror unit after the 3rd does not count towards min core.
Mono God Armies may ignore the race specific restrictions

Dark Elves:
Warlock (Per 5 or part)/Mounted supreme sorc on death/non-wizards on Dark steeds max 3 total

Steve, I think I might allow Skaven Special Characters

None of them massively change the game and many are overpriced.

Come to think of it will probably allow:

Bret Scs
Orc and Goblin Scs
Dwarf Scc
Skaven Scs
Wood Elf Scs

on top.

The best of all of those are the twilight sisters (OK at best) and Wurrzag (Decent if used right) and none are gamebreaking like Epi/Kairos/Teclis/Morathi/Tetto etc

Comp pack looks good to me, although it does seem like the WoC power build gets off rather lightly (loses Soul Feeder, Third Eye and has to take some actual Core units but that's about it). Still, count me in.

Max six skinks + sallies does make me sad I can't run Gor-Rok's Saurus Block though.
