Procrastination by Numbers - Update 146:

I'm painting classic Dwarfs!! PbN Update 146

Steve H

I'm going to take a look through Gareth's bits at the club tonight then make a RoR list... So I'll have it with you by tomorrow Pip.

I'll be playing Beastmen, so not sure if that effects Matt's choice of armies?
In the style of Tom Hale... F*ck Ushabti!!!

I'm off on leave but will get you the list early next week
Bought: 20
Painted: 11

Boo at Deathwing. Boo!

I'll be playing Skaven for the most part.

Pip as discussed I'll be in with Daemons.

Steve took the Beastmen armybook home with me yesterday but I'll bring it back down to the club on Thursday..

Model wise I'm pretty sure other than the stupidly over priced rare monsters (excluding the Gorgon who just looked ace!) and centigor I have pretty much everything in the army book....

Most of it painted.... drop me a pm and we can have a dig through the boxes Thurs and see what you need that might be hiding in my cupboard!

As I'm not working in London these days, I can't commit to the whole campaign but if you're looking for an extra man for the weekend Triumph and Treachery games then count me in for some of those.

I'm definitely up for this.  Missed out last time but love the idea of this campaign and the size/format.

Need to decide between Vamps and Orcs.  Have a fun idea for a Necromancer general (can we let the wiz level slide for him or not?) for VC or the Orcs could simply be there for the fightin'  or I guess I could bring some gobbos for lootin'.  All sorts of possibilities!

One thing I would wonder.  Since there is now no monday night gaming might it be wise to extend the round lengths past the 3 sessions each one currently covers?  4 evening sessions and 2 T&T games could give people a bit more chance to be involved, especially over summer where weekends are at a premium and the light evenings encourage out door activities?  If people are playing a lot of games you could switch up the gold per round to either an average of games played, best 2 etc to accont for this and encourage more gaming.  Just thoughts, will be joining in regardless but didnt know if the timings were decided before monday nights became a thing of the past

QuoteHave a fun idea for a Necromancer general (can we let the wiz level slide for him or not?)

Let me have a gander at him and we'll see. My main reason for the limitation is to keep the whole "level 4 or go home" requirement out of the T&T games, but I haven't heard anything bad about the Lore of Vampires. My only concern would be that since I've limited everyone else to Level 2 he may have a bit of an open field!

Alternatively you could always use Luther Harkon  :wink;m::

Unfortunately, if we did 4 weeks per round, the campaign would run for 20 weeks (minimum). In my experience the longer you stretch stuff out, the harder it is for people to play it through. I myself have to fly to Japan about once every four months.

If people really can't keep up at 2 weeks per round then we'll slow it down, but part of the point is to increase the number of people coming down on weekdays anyway. As laid out in the first post, if you have to miss one round, it's no biggie.

Anyway, OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS EVERYBODY:

  • I am at a conference in exotic faraway Croydon for the next week. You have until Friday to get your lists in.
  • The campaign will kick off with Triumph and Treachery on Monday the 26th (bank holiday!). We'll be trying out the Lustria rules and generally having a laugh. The sign-up thread is already up over in the Challenges subforum, and if we have lots of people we'll run multiple games. All welcome!

Basically every round should give you 2 Thursday night sessions, one Saturday all day session and any bank holidays to get your game in...
If the club is to survive and prosper, we should really hope that members can attend at least once over that timeframe...
