This might come as a shock to you, it did to me last night..

For those of you who have not realised, units can fire between the gaps of their own ranked up units! (yes there is -2 to hit)

So you could even have auto hitting Organ guns, behind ranked up units...

I forsee so many arguments at tournies over what is or isn't in LOS  :bash;m:

I saw this, and your ensuing grumpyness last night, it seems a bit odd.  Not a big fan of TLOS, works well in a skirming game, but not with the abstraction of blocks

At night he prances about like some sort of bearded West Country metalhead pixie, planting pink horrors in peoples' army cases and cackling while chanting his mantra, 'it's double sixes my love, take them off, just take them all off'

I was very grumpy!  :))

Yeah, well. Tournaments will always have something to moan about.

Dunno why people bother.

As I said before release true Los I bull shit, caused me the most grief in 40k. I suspect we will get some sort of convention going

I found it cleared up a lot of the crappy area terrain/infinite height model problems in 40K.

Oh, and it killed off that shitty "I'm actually behind area 3 terrain, so you can't see me" even though the model was clearly in the open and could be seen by every model in the unit that wanted to shoot.

Nah, true LoS is a much better system than the abstractions of old.

I actually quite like True LOS.

But then maybe i'm wierd.

Can I see it? Yes
Can I shoot it? Yes

Can I see it? No
Can I Shoot it? No

Simples.

Rather than... "oh no I set those up 3inches in the wood (with no trees) so that you couldnt see them...."
or
"this small orchard will cover the advance of my 80ft high Dragon with ease.... MWAHAHAHAHA"
In the summer of 2011 he moved North... spreading the word of House OG.

I am Mike of House OG.  Ogger in the North.  And Ginger is coming.

Yep certain parts of it appealed to me but certain parts are not only incredibly fiddly and time consuming but also very abstract and badly written..

And don't get me started on the relevation that a chariot can flee through a building and only (potentially) die on a roll of a 1..... :endit:

If the models and scenery were all to scale then it wouldn't be so bad but most scenery isn't to scale for practical purposes - hills and woods being the best examples.

The abstractions we had in 7th worked well and encouraged some interesting conversions (the guy who took the HE dragon kit and re-did it with the dragon up in the air breathing fire on the rock it would normally be leaping off springs to mind) as you weren't penalised because it was a large target by type.  It could still hide behind hills and woods.

Who'd do that now who was wanting to use the model in games?  All of a sudden everything on the battlefield can see it.

Definitely a case of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"

But to play devils advocate for a bit. That he dragon example is somewhat irrelevant as behind all the current scenery I've seen people using both jeffs conversion and the standard kit would be equally visible.

But I agree in some cases it will be significant.
