Title: Current standard deck
Post by: shadownova24 on October 21, 2014, 02:19:08 pm
Been away for a while but here is my standard deck that i took to games day 3 win 2 losses.
The losses where to mono black aggro really close games got mana flooded on 3rd game =  loss
next loss was to infi mill had to put pressure on opponent on 6 life im on 26 used my only white source to cast mantis where i should of w8 for the combo and erased Jeskai ascendancy, stopping the combo and swinging with mantis next turn and my next card was lightning strike winning the round. i came 9th due to one of my opponents dropping from the event lowering my tie-breakers missing out by 0.7%

4 Darksteel Citadel
2 Ghostfire Blade
4 Wind-Scarred Crag
4 Ensoul Artifact
4 Shrapnel Blast
4 Ornithopter
4 Swiftwater Cliffs
1 Tranquil Cove
1 Plains
2 Island
1 Mana Confluence
4 Mantis Rider
3 Mountain
4 Lightning Strike
2 Magma Jet
2 Springleaf Drum
2 Seeker of the Way
2 Stoke the Flames
2 Jeskai Charm
3 Banishing Light
1 Disdainful Stroke
1 Temple of Enlightenment
1 Mystic Monastery
2 Treasure Cruise

//Sideboard
SB: 1 Jeskai Charm
SB: 3 Dissolve
SB: 3 Erase
SB: 1 Banishing Light
SB: 1 Treasure Cruise
SB: 3 Illusory Angel
SB: 1 Ugin's Nexus
SB: 2 Winterflame

really good deck can deal with anything with burn and 5/5 indestructible creatures, Some games where really quick
turn 1 land  Ornithopter and ghostfire blade
turn 2 land ensoul swing for 5
turn 3 another ensol on either another  Ornithopter darksteel or ghost if no other target and swinging for 10-12 dmg
turn 4 burn stuff banishing light something and WIN.

Seems u reliable, I won games day with jeskai wins an the reason it so good is it never mulligans (or almost never) u might have a really good hand that explodes out but if your 1 or 2 threats are dealt with then u end up with nothing much left, also, playing dark steel citadel in a 3 colour deck must really hurt ur mana base

I thought you'd be on Jeskai Gui!!!

I'm playing Esper Control and it's hard work, but a lot of fun!!! Got a Temur midrangey thing built which I'm going to try out for the first time on Thursday... Think it's ok but not amazing.

yeah the colourless can hurt, have to be careful what i do and which dual land to tapped, spring leafdrum helps a lot but being able to make a 5/5 indistuctiblre outweighs this negative

I agree with steve, elspeth isn't very good right now and Pericles vault is just as good as end hostilities, + the mana is better in blue black so u can play radiant fountain etc...

Part of the reason is that I only have 1 perilous vault at the moment so I'm trying to cover the gap with end hostilities - there's very little white in it, just that and 2 Utter Ends I think. Pretty easy to fetch for the white with flooded strands so it doesn't take too much away from the deck.

The font of fortune is interesting... Had thought about it but discarded it. I originally had +2 jaces ingenuity and -2 drown in sorry but I'm very scared about token decks at the moment!

Just have the 3 drown in the sideboard, token decks don't work so u shouldn't be worrying about them

I disagree about Ashiok... But we've had that argument a million times!

I only own 3 digs and dont want to buy another at current price (£13ish)... I'm a big fan of the ingenuity.
